Hassocks Ladies has little enthusiasm or inclination to play this game against the certain League Champions. The
League has been somewhat of a farce this season. With one club having serious player registration irregularities resulting in the deduction of 20 points, games have been subsequently awarded to their opponents even where the opponents lost the original game and seemingly Hassocks
were one of the very few clubs that did not benefit from such a situation. Coupled with the fact that Hassocks knew
that the three remaining matches could not be played through lack of time there was really nothing to play for.
Hassocks were holding out reasonably well against Wandgas who in footballing terms deserve to be at the top but the manner of tackling
left a lot to be desired and Hassocks were getting no protection from the referee. Katie Harding had pulled a goal back to make it 4-1 but having already made their substitutions, Emma Young was stretchered off with a suspected broken ankle and understandably
the remaining 10 players on the field were not prepared to put themselves at risk and capitulated, giving the game to Wandgas
